Germarilis develops biomaterials and fabrication processes that explore forms of coexistence between living organisms and human systems. Her practice works with organic waste, fibers and bioplastics in relation to the material and visual possibilities of the Caribbean.

Her proposal for Biolumina, Luminico, brings blown glass, biomaterials and the cultivation of bioluminescence into relation. The research addresses care, sustainability and ecological responsibility.
